摘要

Cancer patients no longer exclusively ask about survival chances but also about the effect of the diagnosis and treatment on the expected quality of life. To be able to deliver sustainable data which allow the patient as well as the treating physician to receive a truly informed consent, is a challenge for quality of life research. This can only succeed if the measurement of quality of life is and remains an integral component of the daily routine practice and also a qualitative clinical research oriented to the international standard.
