摘要

Health services research in oncology contributes in various ways to increased effectiveness in this division of health care with different methods and questions but always ultimately to patient-oriented benefits under everyday conditions. Therapies (e.g. drug therapies and surgical procedures) as well as structures of facilities in which patients are treated and cared for are crucial for the well-being of all people affected by this system. Overuse, underuse and misuse in oncology can be avoided by health services research through evidence-based cycles of analysis and interpretation of the current situation, development of new concepts, their implementation, evaluation and readjustment.
