For the pyrgomorphine genus Plerisca I. Bolivar, described from Cape Province/ South Africa, a new species was created and figured, as Perisca sudindica n. sp. The specimens were collected at Coimbatore in South India. The new species is larger than those found in South Africa, but morphologically very similar in main generic characters.
