The structure, composition and dynamics of a sphecid wasp community(Hy- menoptera, Sphecidae), captured through a Malaise trap installed between July of 1995 and June of 1996 in a zone the region known as "Las Arribes del Duero"(Sala- manca province, W-Spain), is studied. 1005 specimens were collected, belonging to 119 species(grouped in 45 genera). This community shows high indices of diversity and evenness, and low dominance. The frequency distribution of the species is ad- justed to the log-series model.
