摘要

An earlier contribution [1] drew attention to the potential value of interfacing offshore oil and gas production with electricity generation from wind turbines. It was noted in Ref. [1] that turbine installation at the depths of offshore platforms was a possible difficulty and that this issue had arisen at the Moray Firth in Scotland, scene of the Beatrice oil field. The author has since learnt that in the Moray Firth there has been related development work the findings from which are in the public domain [2]. Analysis of this will enable extensions to be made to the reasoning in Ref. [1].
