December 2020 marks the end of an era for Future Generation Computer Systems. After many years as Editor-in-Chief, Professor Peter Sloot has retired from his role with the journal. Under Peter's leadership, Future Generation Computer Systems has become a premier journal in the category of Computer Science - Theory and Methods SC1E. Manuscript submissions and Impact Factor, the most well-known measure of quality and relevance, have steadily increased each year in recognition of the journal's influence and position in the field, together with the continued growth in article usage, that will reach over a million downloads by the end of 2020.
