The invention describes the method to prepare a liquid-impregnated surface which consists of a thin film in between the solid-liquid interface. The thin film has better non-wetting properties that comprise of a gas entrained within surface textures. These liquid-impregnated surfaces are resistant to impalement and frost formation, and are therefore more robust.
