摘要

This Special Issue comprises papers that propose new methodologies or models based on fuzzy logic for the development of intelligent systems for pattern recognition. The use of fuzzy models in hybrid approaches has been justified in many cases due to the advantages of other techniques that can enhance the capabilities of an intelligent system. Also many real-world pattern recognition problems may require the integration of several of these techniques to really achieve the efficiency and accuracy needed in practice. In this Special Issue, the papers deal with the use of fuzzy models or hybrid approaches in solving pattern recognition problems. Particular attention has been given to papers dealing with new fuzzy or hybrid models used in medical image processing and recognition.
