Im Auftrag des Umweltbundesamtes/Bundesumweltminis-teriums hat das Öko-Institut e.V. zusammen mit Ökopol und ifeu die Grundlagen für das Abfallvermeidungsprogramm Deutschlands erarbeitet (Dehoust et al. 2013). Hierzu wurden die Ziele für das Abfallvermeidungsprogramm diskutiert und Indikatoren zu dessen Kontrolle erarbeitet. 300 Beispielsmaßnahmen der Vorgängerstudie (Dehoust et al. 2010) wurden konsolidiert und in Bezug zu den Lebenswegstufen von Produkten gestellt. Die Zuordnung der Beispielsmaßnahmen ist nach dem Lebensweg der Produkte strukturiert und verzahnt sowie jeweils auf eine größere Breite an Produkten/Stoffströmen anwendbar. Konkrete Aussagen zu Umweltentlastungen durch Abfallvermeidungsmaßnahmen sind derzeit nur auf der Basis konkreter Beispielmaßnahmen möglich.%German Umweltbundesamt has engaged Öko-Institut e.V. together with other institutions to elaborate the basics of Germany's Waste Prevention Program (Dehoust et al. 2013).
