As almost every print business looks for a competitive edge, some have found it by adding to or improving their finishing operations. It's probably true to say that, until recently, diecutting, foil stamping, and gluing were mainly seen as the preserves of the packaging sector and perhaps a few specialty finishing houses. But, as designers in all types of markets struggle to make their products stand out from the crowd, an increasing number are looking at finishing processes to help them achieve differentiation.
