Die bayerische Textilindustrie habe in den vergangenen Jahren einen schmerzhaften Strukturwandel durchlaufen. Längst lägen die Schwerpunkte nicht mehr nur auf der klassischen Bekleidungsindustrie. Today, high-tech materials for functional apparel, industrial and medical applications are in demand. "As a high-wage state, Bavarian products can only achieve long-term success in a global market when in- novations and better quality justify the higher price. Technical textiles in particular, with their many functional properties and varied applications have great potential for Bavaria as a textile location," emphasised Ilse Aigner, Business Secretary. "With targeted support and local research competence, we will build on our knowledge advantage and secure jobs in the region."
