Among other things, this is due to the fact that the - in this case - one-step production process for these nonwovens generates cost optimisation potentials. The strength of the nonwovens is hugely important in industrial applications. They need to be extremely tear-resistant and often simultaneously very flexible. The objective is to achieve these properties with the smallest running meter weights and optimum raw material input. Here, the Oerlikon Neumag spunbond technologies save more than five percent of raw materials, something that has been demonstrated by a benchmark comparison with standard products in Europe.
