Environmental Economic Geography, i.e. economic geography approaches with a decidedly environmental thrust, is still in its infancy. Certainly, there have been, during the last decade, a couple of important contributions to the international literature consistently addressing this field. They are both conceptually oriented (only to mention Taylor, 1995; Hanink, 1995; Florida, 1996; Gibbs and Healey, 1997; Angel, 2000; Hayter and Le Heron, 2002) or - conceptually informed but tapping into a strong empirical body -focused on specific sectors and case studies (only to mention Soyez, 1995; Braun, 1998; Bridge, 1998; Collins, 1998).
