Sergey Fomel is a Wallace E. Pratt Professor of Geophysics at The University of Texas at Austin, with a joint appointment between the Bureau of Economic Geology and the Department of Geological Sciences. Fomel is cofounder and director of the Texas Consortium for Computational Seismology. He is also the creator and project manager of the Madagascar open-source software package for geophysical data analysis and reproducible publications.
