My editorial this month actually starts on page 8, with three letters to the editor. So, if you'll flip ahead, read those, and then come back, we can talk. Back already? OK, my comments here respond to these letters, particularly to the first one from Philip Manfredi, but are directed to all of the magazine's readers — and potential letter writers and article writers — in general. I want to express my sincere appreciation for Mr. Manfredi's effort. First, for reading my editorial closely and caring enough to craft an extensive comment on it. Second, for providing me an opportunity to explain how the magazine's editorial page works and what I'm attempting to do with it Third, for giving me a chance to clarify a point that I was making in that editorial. And, finally, for not canceling his subscription to GPS World, as some have done over the years when they've disagreed with something I've written.
