By about mid-year, should all go as planned, Kodak will have spent about $3 billion in acquisitions in a bold business strategy aimed at helping both the leading edge and the vast majority of commercial printers fully transition into a leaner, service-provider industry that's largely digital in nature. Crucial to the success of this strategy is the acceptance and use by printers of the analog-beating advantages of digital processes—the cost savings, better effi-ciencies, bigger pricing margins and unique media synergies that new technology is expected to achieve.
