Explorer and oceanographer Robert Ballard is leading a team of 31 scientists to explore the Pacific Ocean, including rare whale graveyards, and anyone can join the team in real time through a live-streaming video. "Lewis and Clark traveled for more than two years and had to wait to return home to share what they'd seen," Ballard said. "Now, the moment a discovery is made, scientists can virtually step aboard the ship and share findings in real time as well as help direct the minute-by-minute operations."
