The White House's top sustainability official has left for a new gig at tech giant Google. Kate Brandt, who was appointed the first federal chief sustainability officer by President Obama, departed the administration in July to work on sustainability issues at Google, according to her LinkedIn profile. Google spokeswoman Riva Litman confirmed that Brandt started at the Mountain View, Calif.- based company but declined to provide details about her new job. According to Brandt's LinkedIn page, she'll be leading the development of Google's corporate sustainability strategy.
