Farmers can keep pace with the expected increase in global population and climate change by adopting a suite of technologies, according to the results of a three-year study. Technologies such as no-till farming, increased nitrogen-use efficiency and precision agriculture have a high potential to increase the amount of corn, rice and wheat farmed in the world, the International Food Policy Research Institute study found. Other increases can come from farmers' adopting heat- and drought-tolerant crop varieties.
