An Exxon Mobil Corp. gas project in western Argentina is on pause after workers found more fossils than fuel. While digging through an oil- and gas-rich area called the Vaca Muerta Shale, road construction crews uncovered the bones of a herd of titanosaurs -- giant, herbivorous sauropods. Paleontologists are now busy identifying hip, neck and thigh bones. They also found a rare skull of a theropod, a carnivore that walked on two legs. The sauropods were some of the largest creatures on Earth and belong to the late Cretaceous Period dating about 66 million to 100 million years ago.
