Boryspil International, Ukraine's largest airport, has selected SITA's airport technology to support its goal of processing 18m passengers by 2020, a figure up from around the current total of 7m. Increased demand has led to the introduction of an industry open platform, SITA AirportConnect, for the 42 international and ten domestic airlines using the airport, thus ensuring faster check-in and easier adoption of self-service technology. The airport will experience 20% growth this year when it is expected to handle 6.7m passengers. The deal also includes SITA AirportHub, a shared wide area network (WAN) infrastructure for the entire Boryspil airport, providing airlines and other airport tenants with high-resiliency and cost-effective in-airport connectivity, thereby replacing individual leased lines and hardware equipment.
