摘要

The paper covers the basic principles of satellite navigation. The architecture of existing and developing global and regional navigation satellite systems, including the current status of their constellations, ground control and user segments, existing and planned signals, performance and services provided is reported. Analysis of GNSS trends is presented. Common trends and directions are highlighted. These include using intersatellite links to make up for vulnerability of ground architecture, providing navigation based both on single and multiple GNSS, increasing the number of frequencies to three and more, extending satellite lifetime, building up anti-jamming capabilities and more.
