LIENARITY OF REGGE TRAJECTORIES AND ITS CO-REALTION WITH QUANTIZED HADRONIC MASSES

We have scrutinized the standard Regge-Chew-Frautschi approach, which proposes a linear relationship between the total angular momentum and the squared mass of hadrons. Some theoretical string models of hadron spectroscopy, which consider Regge trajectories (RTs) and focus considerably on the issue of linear versus non-linear and parallel versus non-parallel RTs have also been analyzed. Recent experimental data exhibit the fact that the hadronic Regge trajectories are non-linear and intersecting. A reason for the deviation from linearity is here proposed via the concept of "quantized" hadronic masses. We have reconstructed some Regge trajectories for mesons and baryons by taking the 70 MeV spinless mass quanta as the ultimate building block for the light hadrons. In order to make masses integral multiples of 70 MeV, we had to add or subtract only small amounts, which have also been explained by us. We have shown how linearity is maintained if quantized hadron masses are considered, and in this paper it has also been established that mesons and baryons have different slopes.
