MASS MIXING BETWEEN GENERATIONS OF QUARKS AND NEUTRINOS

The mixing between quarks in the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa mechanism is interpreted as a transformation in flavour space and verifies the form of the spinor space of the standard model as the direct sum ⊕_(I=1)~3(C directX H directX O)_I. The mixing between the different types of neutrinos shall be shown to be independent of that of the quarks and the orthogonality of the standard generations at the vertices of perturbative diagrams follows. Evidence of quark mixing is suggested in the prediction of the percentage of ss pairs in the virtual sea of quark-anti-quark pairs in nuclei with equals number of protons and neutrons. Given the form of the spinor space of the standard model, the automorphism group is found to be a wreath product of G2 × SU(2) × U(1) with the permutation group .S_3, which is verified by a phenomenological relation for the masses of charged leptons.
