In this paper a new mixture distribution, which is obtained by mixing a generalized Hyper Poisson distribution with a new generalized gamma distribution, and involves H—function is defined. Some basic functions associated with the probability density function of the mixture distribution, such as kth moments, characteristic function and factorial moments have been deduced. Further some figures are drawn for the probability mass function and the distribution function, to show the effect of the parameters involved. Results given recently by Saxena and Kalla and others can be derived from our formulas.
