This exploration in beading began with an unrelated idea: to embellish the bottom edge of a child's vest with Danish medallion using two strands of knitting ribbon twisted together. Something wonderful happened while I worked the row of medallions! As I brought a loop of ribbon up through the cloth, I realized that the loop could be drawn through a bead before I completed the remaining steps of the medallion. All I needed were beads with center holes large enough for four strands of the ribbon to pass through at the same time, since the doubled ribbon is folded to form the loop.
