Heat exchangers are widely used in industry. They are designed to transfer heat from one fluid to another, resulting in heating, cooling, condensation, boiling, heat recovery, and many other applications. Because heat exchangers are used extensively in industry, and also because of the applied nature of the topic, engineering students and practicing engineers need to be familiar with the design of heat exchanges. As the title implies, this book is a handbook of heat exchanger design. A glance through the book, however, indicates that many parts of the book are suitable to cover materials normally taught in a course on heat exchangers. The range of topics covered in the book is wide and comprehensive, including many types of heat exchangers and design methodologies. The book covers both thermal and mechanical design of heat exchangers. As such, it is an excellent companion to thermal design engineers, as well as a good source of classical heat exchanger topics for students.
