The three branches of thermal-fluid sciences, namely, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer, are normally treated in separate books and are covered in three to four separate courses in engineering programs. The Introduction to Thermal and Fluid Engineering brings these interrelated topics into a single textbook. This unified coverage provides a more flexible and concise approach to the topics, and makes it more suitable for use in those engineering programs where the three areas of thermal fluid sciences are covered in one course.
