Eurocopter is to discuss with the Brazilian government proposals to develop and manufacture an indigenous helicopter at the Helibras facility in Itajuba in the mid 2020s. The announcement was made at the formal opening of the new assembly line at the plant for the EC725 helicopter. Helibras is already a Level 1 Authorised Design Organisation within the Eurocopter group alongside its European plants, which is seen as opening the door to design and development work by the subsidiary.
