Is the lighting you sell part of history? As legislation and technology change the way Americans illuminate their homes and places of work, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History has been acquiring artifacts for its Electricity Collection. Joining the displays of experimental light bulbs from Thomas Edison, dimming sockets from the 191 Os, and theatrical lighting controls of the 1920s is an early version of the original solid-state (using transistors) Capri dimmer created by Lutron Electronics' founder and inventor Joel Spira in 1964.
