This issue of HOTELS is filled with inspiration. It's our annual People Issue and at a time when we all need words of wisdom and examples of passion for hospitality, I highly recommend you read this issue front to back. We start with a very special tribute to the late Marriott International CEO Arne Sorenson (p10), who lost his battle on February 15. At the time of his death, the outpouring of remembrances was touching. Everyone had a great story to tell about how Arne had made an impact on their career and lives, learning from his management style. He was a champion of inclusivity and simply doing the right thing. It was just over a year ago when I interviewed Arne for this special issue for 2020. We spoke about his style, family and what mattered to him most. It wasn't the trappings of his position at Marriott - it was always about making a difference for the company and its associates. In my own way, I want to remember Arne by excerpting content from the article that ran last year as there are so many great quotes about leadership to share, and let it act as another remembrance of one of the hotel industry's finest leaders.
