The kitschy glass container, a hard-working holdover of old-timey American food preservation, has seen its day - lots of them, actually - and has become a repository for over-engineered cocktails, deconstructed desserts, beribboned flower arrangements and just about anything else that fits within its etched glass confines. It's cute. We get it. But we'd rather drink our Champagne out of a coup, thanks very much (or, who are we kidding, a bucket).
