H. Charles Floyd, executive vice president and group president -global operations center for Hyatt Hotels Corp., says the company still needs about 10 more hotels in New York City alone. But he will not grow for the sake of growing. In Latin America, his teams are working on Colombia and Peru. In Sao Paulo, he would like to add both an Andaz and a Hyatt Regency. Ian Schrager is obviously so encouraged by the response to his first Public hotel that he is planning more. Schrager and undisclosed investors are reputed to have purchased 215 Chrystie Street in New York City's SoHo. The lower 17 floors of what is planned to be a 25-floor mixed-use building could well be the second Public.
