In tough economic times, hotel owners and operators must explore a range of cost-cutting alternatives, and outsourcing staff such as housekeepers is an obvious one. But while the economic advantages arc clear, outsourcing offers other benefits as well, says Rick Holliday, CEO of Hospitality Staffing Solutions, which works with 4- and 5-star properties in 35 U.S. states. Tasks such as recruit ment, placement and worker's compensation are all covered, he notes. "It's allowing (full time .staff) to focus on the guest contact areas of the hotel," Holliday notes.
