Hilton Worldwide's core Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand is getting a facelift with US$3 billion in property-improvement plans (PIPs) projected to be invested into the brand over the next three years. "Within three years you will see the brand transformed," says Dave Horton, global head of the brand. "Hilton will be the brand of the future and relevant to customers." Horton says Hilton is raising the bar and calls the PIPs "tough." At the same time, he says, he has received a positive response from owners and is confident that they will support the effort. "They want us to lead strong," he says. "All of these initiatives have become brand standards and will be harmonized globally."
