To stand out among some 10,000 restaurants in Houston, last summer several hotels - including The Westin Houston Memorial City, Four Seasons Hotel Houston and The Houstonian Hotel, among others - participated in "Passport to Dining," a Facebook promotion that offered prizes to guests who checked in at the hotels' restaurants and posted photos of themselves dining there. The campaign generated almost 10,000 post views and Facebook "likes" from as far away as Italy and Hong Kong.
