Sure, there are now more than 800 million active Facebook users and 200 million Twitter users, but what's the best way for hotels to reach them? While some hotel companies are still staying out of the game, others are using a variety of strategies to reach social media users, often by hiring an outside marketing agency to assist with drafting an editorial plan for its social media campaign and then utilizing its own marketing staff to implement the plan. A recent survey of TravelClick second quarter global hotel industry webinar attendees showed that 15% of participants plan to hire new staff specifically for social media.
