Worldwide Water conservation tools like low-flow faucets and aerated shower heads have become standard in many hotels across the world in recent years, but the industry has been a bit slower to limit the water flow outside. At properties where sustainable landscaping practices have taken root, however, hoteliers are seeing considerable return on investment while also creating unique- and not necessarily diminished-landscape aesthetics.rnChief among these practices is xerogardening, a strategic form of landscaping that employs drought-resistant and native species of vegetation. The result is the creation of attractive open spaces that require less upkeep and less water. A typical square meter of turf might require 2.6 gallons of water per day to keep green; the average xerogarden would require only about a fifth of that.
