Harare, zimbabwe To reflect its pan-African ambitions, Zimbabwe Sun Ltd. changed its name to African Sun Ltd. in 2008. Now, the company is expanding into West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa, with a goal of having a presence in nine countries within 12 months and 12 countries within 24 months. African Sun already has properties in South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia, in addition to Zimbabwe. "Despite the current economic climate, we are optimistic about the long-term viability of the hospitality industry in Africa. As a result, we are constantly on the lookout for new properties that offer sustainable returns, and the project pipeline we have for the year is solid," says Farayi Mangwende, group corporate communications manager. "Of particular interest to us are developments in natural resource-rich countries and leisure enclaves."
