The 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) in Austin, Texas, sponsored by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, is the world's largest hospitality technology exposition and conference. In its 36th year, the conference offers top hospitality technology education-led by industry peers and experts-and a trade show with the latest hospitality technology products and services. This year's conference is June 16-19 at the Austin Convention Center. The opening session and welcome reception have been moved this year to Monday, both at the Austin Convention Center. The opening session is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the welcome reception immediately following. A general session remains on Tuesday morning, with the rest of the schedule similar to previous years.
