Hotel managers know operating in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way is not only good for the environment—it makes good business sense, too. Still, it is often left to the guest to decide whether or not a hotel will operate in a consistent way. Is a note posted in a hotel room that reads "please reuse your towels" enough? Which hotels really inspire and encourage guests to engage in environmental actions? Take a look at the winners of the 2005 IH&RA Environmental Award, "Engaging the Guest In Environmental Actions" for the answer.
