India's Skipper Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian state of Kano to develop small hydroelectric projects at the Tiga and Challawa dams. The projects will have a combined output capacity of about 35 MW, allowing for improvements in Nigeria's "power, urban renewal, vocational training, film, healthcare, textiles and garments" sectors, according to state officials.
