摘要

A draft evaluation issued in July indicates five years of efforts undertaken by federal agencies to make Columbia River Basin hydroelectric projects safer for salmon are helping more young fish survive their migration downstream and producing higher returns among threatened and endangered runs. The draft Comprehensive Evaluation was released by the Bonneville Power Administration, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation. It details their efforts since 2008 to implement improvements laid out by the NOAA Fisheries' Biological Opinion for operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System for Endangered Species Act-listed salmon and steelhead.
