Since 2000, the website www. geomatics.org.uk has provided careers information to young people interested in the surveying industry. In September 2001 it was re-launched as the portal to a campaign with the grand aim of actually putting surveying technology into the hands of students, and to demonstrate how exciting a career in surveying - be it land or sea - can be. Funded by an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant and money donated by industry, the project has taken huge leaps forward.
