In his final Rhumb Lines in October, Sinbad observed that we are currently in the midst of a period of development and re- organisation in the world of hydrographic publications and periodicals. As it approaches its 100th issue, The Hydrographic Journal is not immune to this atmosphere of change. Indeed Several enhancements are currently being considered for Introduction over the coming issues. One of these developments is this new, regular column Voicing the 'personal views' of guest contributors, providing Others with the opportunity to express their opinions-or vent Their spleens-as Whitewash and Sinbad have done before them.
