Having been invited by the Editor to author the Observations column for this Centenary issue my mind has been stung to a quite unaccustomed pitch of activity. Words I have come to associate with this august publication- Erudite-authoritative-learned-flashed terror through my Surviving brain cells. What do I think of the Society, its progress since My days in the Hon Sec's chair and the uncertain future it faces? Oh Dear! (Not to worry too much, though, no one with eyesight like my Own will be able to read the article in the point size used in the Journal!)
