Whilst the Royal Navy has been involved in hydrographic activities for many years, formal education in the subject is still a relatively new idea. This paper briefly reviews the history of the Royal Naval Hydrographic School before looking at its current Programme and the external recognition that its courses attract. Finally the paper looks at the changes currently underway and the Exciting future for hydrographic education and training that these Herald.
