In the last decade the multibeam echosounder has become a common surveying tool. It is widely accepted by civil authorities, dredging and offshore surveying companies, amongst others. Multibeam proved efficient as a replacement of single beam Echosounders, and introduced new possibilities. For example, high Resolution and full bottom coverage now make multibeam suitable For pipeline inspection and dredge monitoring.
