The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has been active in negotiations to promote the important role that ICTs can play in mitigating and adapting to climate change. In September the organization hosted the first-ever Virtual International Symposium on ICTs and Climate Change, together with the Korea Communications Commission, heralding a new and green ear of international events, offering many of the benefits of physical participation without the environmental costs.
