The UK's Department for Education and Skills (DfES) has launched an interactive website designed to teach schoolchildren about government and public service. Named DirectgovKids, the site is aimed at helping children from the ages of five to 11 to gain an understanding of government.rnThe site is designed to be child-friendly and easy to navigate. Using bright primary colors, it presents a miniature town with interactive buildings the children can investigate, such as a school where they can play a game with Beryl the dinner lady, choosing healthy food for school lunch; or the art gallery, where they can design a poster. As well as games, the site also offers animations and slideshows.
